Learn!
If there is a resolution you must make and keep this year, it is to learn.
Good employees make constant efforts to learn new things about their business, about their products, about their customers, about their customer’s processes, about their customer’s competition and anything that relates to their business in general.
This helps the employees make more informed decisions in aspects of their business whether it is launching a new product, approaching a new prospect, conducting a seminar, dealing with suppliers and even in talking to their own management.
Learning new things opens new avenues as your perspective about things changes. You become aware of things that were not clear to you before. You find new things to explore, new processes to try. You find there are ways to do things differently and sometimes more efficiently to what you were doing before.
Learning helps you become more aware, more prepared, more open. You find that you are able to talk to people more openly and with more confidence. You can relate to what people are saying because you have learned about what they are talking about. You may not have lived their experiences, but you can empathize with them because you know what they are saying as you’ve read about them.
Learning helps you become a better sales person and a better human being. So you should start learning today so you become better at what you do this year.
