To Stand Out in a Competitive Market: Ask for the Sale


Customers can walk away without making a purchase just because the sales person did not ask for the sale. Seems odd, but it happens on a regular basis.

You make a presentation which is just an infomercial because you did not ask for the sale.

Or your website could fail to convert a lead because you did not ask for the order to be placed.

People fail to ask for the order for the most basic reason that they fear rejection. The customer can walk away because they did not like the offer. This does not mean that they are rejecting you personally.

The more serious issue would be that the customer would walk away because you did not ask for the order. There’s no harm in giving it a try. The most the customer can do is say ‘No’.

Or they could say ‘Yes!’ This would increase your sales and add to your customer’s delight. All because you had the courage to ask. Never be afraid to try.

The customer could be on the fence about purchasing your product. A simple question, “Would you like to buy?” could convert their decision into a “Yes!”

When you feel the customer is ready, ask for the sale.
